Pennies

Breaking barriers and transforming young lives

Since 1974, we’ve been your trusted companion in outdoor adventures. But we understand that the trails and peaks that bring us joy aren’t equally accessible to everyone.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Snow Camp, an organisation that shares our passion for nature’s transformative power. While we help you navigate forest paths and mountain ridges, Snow Camp leads undeserved young people on

a journey of personal growth through snowsports. Together, we’re opening up new horizons — be it on snowy slopes or rugged trails — and proving that the great outdoors has the power to change lives, one step (or glide) at a time.

Unlock their potential on the slopes and beyond

From city slopes to alpine peaks, Snow Camp isn’t just about mastering snowsports, it offers a launchpad for life. As young people carve their way through indoor and outdoor challenges, they’re not just learning to ski or snowboard; they’re building confidence, boosting self-esteem, and unlocking their potential.

With mental health support and an award-winning apprenticeship programme, Snow Camp aims to head start careers and gear young people up for success, on and off the mountains.

Every penny really does help

  • £100 funds a young person’s first ever experience on snow on Snow Camp’s two-day beginner First Tracks programme – away from the city and daily challenges they may be facing.
  • £500 contributes towards a young person’s first ever experience in the mountains on Snow Camp’s advanced 10-week Excel programme – a truly life-changing opportunity.
  • £2,500 funds one young person through Snow Camp’s full 12-month programme journey – a transformative experience that vastly increases the young person’s career prospects in the snowsports industry

What is Pennies?

Pennies is an award-winning fintech charity with an important mission: to protect and grow micro-donations, ensuring people have digital ways to keep donating the small sums of money that are so vital to charities.

As a trusted leader in digital micro-donations, Pennies has created a movement that encourages giving, offers businesses a powerful way to demonstrate social purpose, helps charities make a greater impact, and gives the public a way to donate without cash, as part of their daily lives.

In an increasingly cashless society, Pennies’ ‘digital charity box’ gives customers paying by card or digital wallet a convenient way to add a small donation to their purchase, when shopping with participating retailers.  Whether in-store, online or in-app, it’s a simple, affordable, data-free way to donate, with 100% of funds raised going to charity.

Millions of people are now using the digital charity box. To date, Pennies has enabled more than 100 million micro-donations, raising millions of pounds in much-needed additional income for charities in the UK and Republic of Ireland.  Together, payment providers, retailers and their customers are helping hundreds of charities make a meaningful difference to the causes and communities they serve.

Because micro-donations matter, now more than ever.
