Ajay's Top 5 National Trust Summer Walks
Ajay’s time spent working for the National Trust has allowed him to explore lots of their special places. Lots of them have beautiful walks to offer too, especially in the summer. Here are some of Ajay’s top National Trust places with walks he’s loved along the way.
1. Box Hill, Surrey
“I have happy memories of walking here as a child, but stepping stones are always great fun, even as an adult!”
2. Lindisfarne, Northumberland
“I love the idea of being on a small island, surrounded by sea with seabirds around and plants that grow beside the sea.”
3. Snowdonia
“A pretty walk in Snowdonia. A friend of mine did their Ranger apprenticeship with the Trust near here and we had a wonderful summer walk here amongst the beautiful scenery.”
4. Lake District
“This walk reminds me of happy summer holidays as a child.”
5. Wicken
“My favourite local walk! I love walking this route in the summer, looking for butterflies and dragonflies and watching birds flit across the water into the reeds - occasionally I spot grass snakes swimming in the water. It’s also a great route to see the grazing livestock from, which I love and reminds me of Wicken Fen where I work as a National Trust Ranger.”
