Often seen as the most extreme form of climbing and is usually done over multiple days with multiple pieces of rope with some climbers choosing to sleep on the face on special beds called portaledges hundreds of feet above the ground. Climbers will often need to use special equipment like ice axes and screws in order to climb up frozen waterfalls and glaciers.
